Everyone’s familiar with the Christmas Carol, “All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth…” Well, how about some new front teeth for the New Year? If your smile could use a new look, then you should consider porcelain veneers.
Dr. Arthur Schramm at Schramm Dentistry in
Charlotte, NC, restores and renews smiles with
porcelain veneers that look as natural as your own teeth.
Porcelain veneers are a contemporary dental technique used to repair teeth that have moderate damage. This may include:
- Stained or discolored teeth
- Slightly chipped or cracked teeth
- Crooked teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Teeth with irregular spacing
Because Dr. Schramm wants to perform the most conservative dentistry possible, he will first examine your teeth and general oral health to determine if
veneers are the best option for you. If the answer is yes, then you are probably only two short visits away from having those new front teeth for the New Year.
The Porcelain Veneer Process
Porcelain veneers are made of very thin layers of dental porcelain or composite resin that are applied layer by layer over existing teeth that need repair. To make sure your veneers are the right color, Dr. Schramm uses a color matching chart.
In order to prepare your teeth for veneers, Dr. Schramm will need to remove a minimal amount of your existing tooth's surface, so that the veneers will lay flush with your other teeth. You will likely need to wear temporary veneers while our professional dental lab fabricates your custom
porcelain veneers. When those arrive in our office, you will return for Dr. Schramm to adhere them to your teeth. He will artfully trim, shape and mold your veneers for a look that blends seamlessly with your natural smile. And voila! You have new front teeth for the New Year!
